Women's Month Celebration

With March almost ending, I have to take time out to celebrate my favorite female designer. Today we honor Amsale.

Amsale's love of fashion began as a young girl growing up in Ethiopia. However, Amsale never considered becoming a designer: "In Ethiopia there were no fashion designers. I never knew that designing beautiful clothes was a profession to which one could aspire."

Amsale left Boston, enrolled in New York's Fashion Institute of Technology and began her career as a design assistant for Harve Bernard upon graduation. Two years later, Amsale launched her custom bridal-gown business with her "forever modern" approach to sophisticated design.
Amsale's design philosophy has redefined the perception of the timeless wedding gown. Her innovative twists to time honored hallmarks of the traditional wedding gown—reintroducing "illusion design," modern updates of the traditional bustle, and tasteful color accents including the now-famous "blue sash" gown—have become so popular among prospective brides that they have been recognized as modern classics.Amsale left Boston, enrolled in New York's Fashion Institute of Technology and began her career as a design assistant for Harve Bernard upon graduation. Her gowns are effortless, chic and F-I-E-R-C-E!

Bling!!!!

I am always talking about gorgeous gowns but what about the accessories. For the rest of the week, I am going to focus on accessorizing. First we have to look at the engagement rings. In certain countries huge diamond engagement rings are not important. Well, it is important to me. The size of the diamond does not measure the man's affection but it sures looks good on the left hand. Let's take a look at different cuts.

Emerald Cut-

Tiffany & Co - Receiving a ring from the legendary store would be amazing. Every girl dreams of the little blue box.

Princess Cut

Cartier

This is Cartier classic ring. This solitaire has been part of their collection since 1895. All I can say is YES! YES! YES!

Upstage You!!!!

I know I have been MIA for the month of February, but after Fashion week I decided to take a little vacation. Greetings to all my fellow Pisces!!! We rule the world. Back to Couture.

Being a single woman, I have had an opportunity to be part of the bridal party. I think I only liked my bridesmaid dress once. My friend Nean, did a great job picking a dress for her bridesmaids. Ladies, why do you pick the worst dresses? I don't feel that an elegant dress will upstage the bride but it will complement the bride and can also be a nice investment for the single women. Think about it!! A bridesmaid is going to spend $200-$300 on a dress that she will only wear once. If the dress is nice, she will wear it again to a cocktail party or another wedding. Brides, be nice to the bridal party. I found a designer who designs great gowns.

Basil Soda redefines simplicity. If you don't believe me check is website.

Ok , maybe too avant garde for a bridal party but I love it. For the simpler bride I would suggest Vineyard Collection for the bridal party.

The gowns are available in a variety of colors.
