Rosa Clara the Spanish designer is creating volume with feminine looks and simple close fitting gowns. Some may say the gowns are very simple, but something about the draping captures my attention and screams elegance.

Diary

I recently had a conversation with my friends about having a list when choosing a I had this conversation, I began to realize that God put a list out there as well. mate. Well I have five things I look for and I am pretty sure plenty of females would agree with me. Now you know I have to include my daddy God in the diary. After So I started doing research to see if I was going the right path. Ladies you will not believe it!!!! You may think this girl is preaching, but seriously we should never settle. So here it goes.

1. God Fearing- If a guy does not have a relationship with God,please tell me how it is going to work. A family that prays together stays together.
verse: Matthew 6:33
-"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

2.Stay away from Mama's Boys!!! (Run)
A man should have a good relationship with his mother but when you are in a relationship the man's mother should not be included. Ladies, you know exactly what I am talking about. If he is still breast feeding, please run. God will send you a real man.
Verse: Ephesians 5:31
"For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

-Note that the Apostle Paul did not mention that the man should bring his mother along.

3) J.O.B
Ok, I know we are in a recession and people are losing their jobs. Looking for a job is a 9-5 by itself. So men no excuse. I am very independent and I can take care of myself but that does not mean I am going to take care of you. Women were created to be a help mate. So what if she makes more money, you have to work , provide and protect.
Verse: Genesis 2:15
"15And the LORD God took the MAN, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it."

Ladies,Jesus was a carpenter.

4) Good Looking
Everyone has their own opinion on what they considered good looking. I am strong believer that I have to be physically attracted to the person. It was hard for me to find a verse for this one. Than I remembered when God choose a King for Israel,His chosen people, the man was very attracted. So why settle for an unattractive man? Who cares if there is a shortage and most of them are gay.
Verse: 1 Samuel 9:2
"And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people"

5) No Kids
This is a tough one. My friends really disagree with me on this. I do not want to be a stepmother. Some females do not mind; but I do. I want to be able to share that experience with my future husband. It will be my first and the child will be his second? I don't know how I fell about that.

Bible promotes complete abstinence before marriage. If you abstain you can't say " I made a mistake" or "I would do things differently"
Verse: Hebrews 13:4
"Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled......"

Now there are some other things that I look for but I couldn't find a verse.

Diary

Today I want to share my thoughts with you. When I started this blog, I wanted to focus on beautiful gowns and looking fabulous. Being a bride is more than that. Growing up in a pentecostal church, I was taught that Jesus will one day come for His bride, the church. I never really understood what that meant. As I look at the beautiful wedding gowns,I am starting to comprehend what the Reverend was saying. First, please do not think I am giving a sermon or pressing anyone to a specific religion. I feel I should share my thoughts. In Revelation 19:7 it states "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His wife has made herself ready." A bride always dreams of a spectacular wedding day from the gown to the reception. I feel that everyday I should be preparing my wedding day for the Lord. That means the way I carry myself, the way I treat others and my relationship with God should always be my main concern. With all the changes that are occurring in this world, I wonder what kind of bride I am. Am I the Bride , God is looking for? Does the couture gown make a statement on the outside but not within? If you are single or getting married. Remember you are always a bride. We should always be in preparation for the day Jesus comes for his church.

Be blessed and fabulous.

Style File- Hair Styles

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers and future mothers, aunties and godmothers. You are a star all year round.

I am going to take a break from bridal couture. Let us look at some hairstyles that can look stunning at the red carpet and down the aisle. Yes, the dress is important but the hairstyle can make or break the entire look. Ladies, please stay away from too much curls. You do not want to look like you have a bird's nest on your head. I feel simplicity is key.

Simple Gowns for a Quick Wedding

In the middle of a recession, many brides are deciding to have a simple wedding. When I say simple, I mean City Hall. What should you wear? I feel that you still have to look your best. Here are some suggestions.

Thread
J Crew recently launched a bridal collection. I know J CREW? The line is simple and elegant. The prices are reasonable. For a wedding in City Hall or Justice of the Peace, I think this is a good way to go.

Women's Month Celebration

With March almost ending, I have to take time out to celebrate my favorite female designer. Today we honor Amsale.

Amsale's love of fashion began as a young girl growing up in Ethiopia. However, Amsale never considered becoming a designer: "In Ethiopia there were no fashion designers. I never knew that designing beautiful clothes was a profession to which one could aspire."

Amsale left Boston, enrolled in New York's Fashion Institute of Technology and began her career as a design assistant for Harve Bernard upon graduation. Two years later, Amsale launched her custom bridal-gown business with her "forever modern" approach to sophisticated design.
Amsale's design philosophy has redefined the perception of the timeless wedding gown. Her innovative twists to time honored hallmarks of the traditional wedding gown—reintroducing "illusion design," modern updates of the traditional bustle, and tasteful color accents including the now-famous "blue sash" gown—have become so popular among prospective brides that they have been recognized as modern classics.Amsale left Boston, enrolled in New York's Fashion Institute of Technology and began her career as a design assistant for Harve Bernard upon graduation. Her gowns are effortless, chic and F-I-E-R-C-E!

Bling!!!!

I am always talking about gorgeous gowns but what about the accessories. For the rest of the week, I am going to focus on accessorizing. First we have to look at the engagement rings. In certain countries huge diamond engagement rings are not important. Well, it is important to me. The size of the diamond does not measure the man's affection but it sures looks good on the left hand. Let's take a look at different cuts.

Emerald Cut-

Tiffany & Co - Receiving a ring from the legendary store would be amazing. Every girl dreams of the little blue box.

Elma Gil- Very sophisticated. Each ring from their collection is uniquely designed and is very innovative.

Upstage You!!!!

I know I have been MIA for the month of February, but after Fashion week I decided to take a little vacation. Greetings to all my fellow Pisces!!! We rule the world. Back to Couture.

Being a single woman, I have had an opportunity to be part of the bridal party. I think I only liked my bridesmaid dress once. My friend Nean, did a great job picking a dress for her bridesmaids. Ladies, why do you pick the worst dresses? I don't feel that an elegant dress will upstage the bride but it will complement the bride and can also be a nice investment for the single women. Think about it!! A bridesmaid is going to spend $200-$300 on a dress that she will only wear once. If the dress is nice, she will wear it again to a cocktail party or another wedding. Brides, be nice to the bridal party. I found a designer who designs great gowns.

Basil Soda redefines simplicity. If you don't believe me check is website.

Ok , maybe too avant garde for a bridal party but I love it. For the simpler bride I would suggest Vineyard Collection for the bridal party.

The gowns are available in a variety of colors.

February's New Hot Designer

Each month, my goal is to find an new designer to share with you. Of course we love Oscar, Vera and Monique Lhuillier. I can admit I have always dreamed of wearing one of their gowns. I also like to find new designers who are ready to make a stand in the industry.

For February the winner is Jenny Lee. 5 Stars on the Red Carpet

A beautiful mermaid gown with a stunning rosette to make a statement and can bring tears to any one's eyes.

This Chantilly lace and satin gown will be great for the beaches of Jamaica.
You know I can't forget my religious brides. This gown is strapless but can be worn with the French cut jacket.
